If you’ve been following along with my Word of the Year, SAVOR, over at my main blog, Grace Filled Moments, then you know I’m looking for God’s goodness in the big things—like a beautiful snowfall—and the little things. And today, friends, we are talking about one of my favorite “little things”: Salted Caramel Iced Coffee.

There is just something about that perfect golden swirl in a cold glass that makes my day feel a bit more special. Even when it’s freezing outside (yes, I’m one of those people who drinks iced coffee in a Northeast winter!), taking that first sip is a moment I’ve learned to truly treasure.

Why I Like Iced Coffee

If you’ve been a reader or blogging friend over at Grace Filled Moments, you already know how much I love coffee to begin with. But once in a while, I get a fancy for a refreshing iced coffee.

Here is what I love most about the Salted Caramel life:

  • The Perfect Contrast: It’s that magical mix of sweet and salty. The rich, buttery caramel hits your tongue first, and then that tiny hint of salt kicks in to balance everything out. It’s like a party for your taste buds!
  • The “Coffee House” Feel at Home: You don’t need to drive to a fancy cafe and pay six dollars to feel pampered. Pouring that caramel over the ice and watching it marble through the coffee is pure art.
  • The Mid-Day Reset: When I’m busy writing or tidying up the house, sitting down with my glass for ten minutes helps me hit the “pause” button. It’s my way of savoring the quiet moments of the afternoon.

More Than Just a Drink

To me, this drink is a reminder that we are allowed to enjoy the “sweetness” of life. Scripture says:

Taste and see that the Lord is good” (Psalm 34:8).

While that’s a deep spiritual truth, I think God also delights when we enjoy the wonderful flavors He created for us!

Whether I’m sipping it through a straw while looking out at the snow or enjoying it as a treat after coming in from outside, my salted caramel iced coffee is a little cup of joy that I refuse to rush through.
